Thank you, Violetta, for sharing your incredible journey. Your story is a testament to the transformative power of Web 3 for artists. To our listeners, thank you for joining us. Don’t forget to share this episode and follow Art Chains for more inspiring conversations.
To all artists and creators out there, I encourage you to explore Web 3. It’s not an easy journey, but it’s a space where your work can truly be valued. Thank you so much for having me today—it’s been an absolute pleasure to share my story.
Looking ahead, I’m planning a tour for NFT holders, where they can host shows in their local communities. This not only rewards them but also helps onboard new people into Web 3. I’m also organizing a flash mob during Art Basel to highlight how Web 3 offers musicians more freedom and value than traditional platforms.
Building a community in Web 3 requires consistency and genuine engagement. I’ve performed on Twitter Spaces for thousands of hours and host weekly Zoom concerts for my NFT holders. These interactions aren’t just about selling NFTs—they’re about fostering relationships and showing people the value of music.
For example, my Moonshot collection featured 2,500 unique music NFTs, each with gamified perks. These included free concert tickets, vinyl records, and even private shows. One collector invited me to perform on a cruise in the Bahamas, while another commissioned a custom song for their business. These moments showcase the decentralized, peer-to-peer nature of Web 3.
One major decision I made was leaving platforms like Spotify. For me, focusing on Web 3 felt more meaningful than trying to crack algorithms that prioritize quantity over quality. I chose to spend my time building authentic relationships with fans who genuinely support my music. This approach isn’t for everyone, but it’s been liberating and rewarding for me. It also sends a message to other artists that there are alternative paths to success.

Thank you so much for the warm introduction and for having me. It’s an honor to be here.
To start, my journey began in the Web 2 music industry. I started at 18 when I participated in X Factor Italy, where I reached the finals and signed a record deal with Sony Music. Unfortunately, that deal was very predatory. Like many young artists, I didn’t realize I was signing away my rights. I ended up with only 5% of my song rights and learned some tough lessons early on.
After leaving that deal, I pursued an independent career for seven years, touring Europe and working on various creative projects, including film and advertising soundtracks. However, when COVID-19 hit, I realized how little I earned from streaming platforms despite having over 10 million streams on Spotify. This was a breaking point for me.
Then, my mom—who I always credit as a visionary—introduced me to blockchain and NFTs. She encouraged me to explore this space, and when I did, it clicked immediately. Web 3 allowed me to create a community and directly connect with people who valued music as art. From there, I dove in and never looked back.

For those who might not know her—though I don’t see how that’s possible—Violetta is a pioneering artist in the Web 3 music space. In my opinion, she’s one of the most consistent and influential community builders in this space. When I joined Web 3 back in 2022, Violetta was among the first artists I encountered, and I kept seeing her name everywhere. Her contributions to the Web 3 music scene are undeniable.
Her achievements speak for themselves. She has sold over 10,000 music NFTs, with her primary sales volume exceeding 300 ETH and secondary sales surpassing 400 ETH. Violetta is also the first artist to sell a single song for 1 Bitcoin! She’s a trailblazer in every sense of the word. Violetta, please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong about any of this.
